This transmission from Sol 991 reveals a **perfectly curved object**, partially buried in a Martian sand dune. After enhancement, the object appears to have **smooth contours**, resembling a **slipper-like shape or compact hovercraft**. Behind it, a **zigzag trail effect** suggests it may have **hovered into view** just as Curiosity snapped the image.

The trail may be caused by the rover’s **slow aperture**, capturing **motion blur** as the object moved. This implies **active movement**, not static placement. The surrounding sand appears **digitally thickened**, possibly used to **mask the object's full form**. NASA’s tactic of using **fake sand overlays** is evident here—this anomaly was too distinct to hide with color tinting alone.
