A Case of Pareidolia on Mars

ROVER: **Curiosity** (MSL) · SOL: **106**

ACTIVITY: **Searching for Anomalies**

INSTRUMENT: **Left Mastcam** (M-34)

In this image from the Curiosity Rover, two clear anomalies stand out. The first resembles a **lizard** climbing the rover—though we must consider it may be part of the rover itself. The second looks like a long-haired animal, possibly a **dog**. To the left of that, two **humanoid heads** emerge: one with dark skin gazing directly at the camera, the other pale with long, Spock-like ears. Is this truly **pareidolia** or something much more significant?
